After four years as Out Magazine’s Managing Editor, I was promoted to the role of Executive Editor and acting editor-in-chief. This involved re-staffing key positions in less than two weeks; diving headfirst into creative production; pushing the needle forward; and curating and overseeing the title’s two largest annual portfolios: the Power 50, and, most notably, the 2018 Out100, a vast endeavor that was accomplished with unprecedented time constraints and limited resources. It has been hailed as the title’s most diverse and dynamic Out100 ever. I relished the opportunity to lead a team, make final calls on all content, hand-select virtually every image, top-edit all text, and work closely with the sales team on brand messaging.
